| Thats right the Leander Veterans of Foreign Wars post 10427 installed Texas District 28 very first Mens Auxiliary. The Mens Auxiliary is made up of Fathers, Stepfathers (who have performed the duties of parent), Brothers, Sons, Grandsons, Grandfathers, Husbands, and widowers of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Mens Auxiliary charter is open for 90 Days in which anyone who signs up will be permanently placed on record as the forefather of this organization. Dues are $30 per year to join. This group of Volunteer Men will help to further the aims and goals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Promoting Americanism and supporting youth programs is at the top of the agenda. Already the group has a Large Sanctioned BBQ Event scheduled for Oct. 20-21st at the VFW Grounds off FM2243. Kyle Park will perform on the night of the 21st. This even will benefit the Leander and Liberty Hill High School Scholarship funds. The public is welcome to attend and/or compete in the BBQ Cook-Off contest.
Having a Mens and Ladies Auxiliary opens the doors for our organization to continue the spirit of a family environment. As post commander, my wife, mother and stepmother are members of the Ladies Auxiliary. My father is now a charter member of the Mens Auxiliary. I am proud to have a family that backs this great organization and gives all of us a way to give back to the community as a family unit.
